Sometimes in December
it’s nice to remember July
Happiness always from
The Miller Family
A few weeks ago I did an interview where I expected to be asked about the highlights of my year. I try not to categorize things into highs and lows, so I was going to say, “It was meeting you in San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland. It was the time I saw you in Milwaukee, LA, or Houston. It was in Scottsdale, remember? In Boston, you were there. In Reno, Newport Beach, San Mateo, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Brookfield, Kansas City, Huntington Beach, Altadena, at your house, in your backyard, or at your table. It was on the radio, the blog, the phone, the page, or in your email, that time we met.” Those were the lights – every time, everywhere, every one.
Thank you for sharing your light with me this year. What can I say? It shines.
I love this photo!

And your light shines in the book my friend is now reading, and the afternoon meditation retreat she and I spent together this weekend. It shines in every email you’ve graciously sent in response to my questions.
Thank you.

I see your light. And feel it. It permeates always. xo

And thank you. Always. From the bottom of my heart. I only wish it was that warm here, right now, in frigid Canada.

And for those of us who got even a glimpse of the lunar eclipse last night, it was a pure, poetic reminder of hidden light revealing itself and the ways in which good things come full circle. As another teacher of mine puts it so eloquently, ‘the greater the external darkness, the greater the internal light.’

The light shines and warms my mind and heart.
As I gazed at the rose tinted overcast sky at 2AM EST during the eclipse last night, I felt entirely connected to all my loved ones so far away from CNY state.
How gracious of you to share your family picture with us and the Joy of Summer:)

The light from our gathering with you is still glowing in our home. It is with me everywhere, and shown me the way when I have felt lost.

I am about half way through Hand wash Cold. It is a super book. I am reading it on the Kindle and I have 28 passages highlighted. Yesterday’s blog post was about one such highlight.

As I say there, your writing and thought remind me of Charlotte Beck and I get tons from you both. Thank you very much

Every time I visit your blog to catch up on your posts… after I catch my breath, the first words that I can think to utter are “I am so glad that Karen is here. I am so grateful she is willing to share… and that I have found the way to share in a bit of her light.” Wishing you and your family many smiles, much laughter and always love during this season.
