Mommy, last week in class we were supposed to give each other compliments, and do you know Tom, the boy with the dark hair?
Uh-huh.
He told me I was short.
What did you say?
I told him, “That’s not a compliment! That’s a threat and an insult!”
Spoken with the force of nature that topples a wobbly head and rules a steadfast heart.
The girl will be OK.
Take no prisoners!

Short people are down to earth says one who never grew past five foot two.

Make that five feet. “Firecracker” comes to mind.

Well, I’m 6’1″ and I can tell you that when a man points out I’m tall, he rarely means it as a compliment. He usually means I’ve stepped out of my place by having the audacity to be tall.
So many men think they can say what you are–tall, short, pretty, plain. Hurray for the girls and women who don’t let them get away with it!

This made me laugh. I love her spirit. This reminds me of fifth grade when we had to take turns praising each other and the boy I had a crush on said, “You sit in front of me.” Sending a hug to Georgia Grace.
