That you could spend nearly a thousand dollars we don’t yet have, to save the crippled cause of a poor public school, for a clutch of stuff that you didn’t much want, a blurry galaxy rendered through the bottom of a bottomless champagne glass: a tripod telescope, Dodgers seats, a studio tour and four seats at a TV show taping. That you could pan this fool’s gold and thus deliver our daughter to a stretch of celestial awe beyond the arc of the moon. All to see the stars! The stars!
Well done, husband.
(After a night at the public school auction.)
I like these auction fundraisers that public school’s are doing now. I never want what they are offering usually, either but it’s alwasy good to go and bid simply to give money to the school. They’re big in HISD among the parent teacher org’s.
I even saw one the other day that is actual auction site where they have a perpetual auction.
I looked but I try really ahrd not to aquire stuff becasue then I have to find soemone to give it to. I spend so much time jsut getting rid of stuff that people give me or that I bought for pennies at this thrift store or that grage sale just because it was interesting but thenI get it home and realize I have once again been seduced by the allure of “intersting” I try to avoid garage sales and e-bay unless I actually need something.
Ok I rambled a lot.
How is your day, Maezen?
